Over 200 Google Employees Unionize
More than 200 Google employees in the United States have formed a workers’ union. The effort is influential as it is the first union at a big tech company. The tech industry has had a history of unchecked power concerning unionization efforts. Employees at Google specifically signed cards to join the Alphabet Workers Union. The union is open to all US and Canadian workers at Google’s parent company, Alphabet, including full-time employees as well as temporary workers, vendors, and other contractors.
