Overqualified Workers May Be Less Likely to Quit Jobs
A new study by the University of South Carolina finds that overqualified workers may be more likely to stay with a company longer and perform better than workers who are less qualified. The study analyzed data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics and found that workers with lower brain-power jobs were less likely to express dissatisfaction. The study contradicts common mentality, and also court rulings, which have held that employees can discriminate against workers who are "too smart."
