Paid Maternity Leave Push Underway at U.S. Labor Department
The U.S. Department of Labor recently released a video comparing a pregnant woman in Germany who will get 14 weeks of paid leave, to a pregnant U.S. woman who will get no paid leave. At this time the U.S. is the only developed country that does not offer paid leave to pregnant women. In addition, only 8% of private sector employees in the U.S. qualify for 12 weeks of paternal leave and this leave is unpaid.
