Pakistan International Airlines strike grounds flights
Pakistan International Airlines staff are on strike, protesting a proposed route sharing deal with Turkish Airlines. Staff say that they are afraid the deal will lead to cuts among the 20,000 workers. Workers in Islamabad disrupted flights by laying on runways and puncturing tires of service vehicles. While the airline says only a small number of workers are involved in the protests, and most flights are not disrupted, the workers say that flights in major cities are grounded.
