Panama Canal expansion workers strike over pay
Thousands of workers who are expanding the Panama Canal have gone on strike. The workers are asking for higher wages and back pay. The group managing the expansion said that they pay above average salaries, but that there have been payroll issues. The workers went on strike on Monday, and also asked for safety improvements at the work site. The expansion is expected to be completed in 2014.
