Panel to vote on bills that target federal workers
The House Oversight and Government Reform Committee is scheduled to vote on several pieces of legislation this week that would affect federal employees. The provisions of the bill would prohibit employee bonuses for the rest of the fiscal year, allow agencies to place senior executives on investigative leave without pay, and require employees to notify taxpayers of their right to record meetings and telephone calls. The Republican sponsored legislation has been met with criticism from several unions, who believe that it would undermine the rewards of excellent performance and garner public distrust toward federal employees.
