Prop workers represented by Local 44 of the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees are up in arms at each other, with some members receiving physical threats. Roiling the local is a decision last month to pay $170,000 to a departing top executive days before he was to face accusations that he misappropriated funds, demanded cash from people seeking union jobs and awarded insurance money to unqualified members.
