Pentagon adds 35,000 employees to new personnel system
According to an online notice posted last week, the Defense Department will transfer 35,000 nonbargaining unit employees to its controversial pay-for-performance system, bringing the total number of employees in the National Security Personnel System to 113,000. Meanwhile, unions await an appeals court ruling on their challenge that the new system effectively blocks collective bargaining rights.
