Pete King Corp. fires back at carpenters union
The Pete King Corp., an Arizonian contracting company, continues to fight with the Southwest Union of Regional Carpenters, which has been trying to organize employees at Pete King. The union began a radio campaign several weeks ago, alleging that Pete King hires illegal immigrants, violates safety codes, and owes back taxes and wages. The ads have run in Phoenix and Las Vegas. Pete King recently responded by writing letters to customers assuring them that the unions' allegations are not true. The company says that it complies with all I-9 form regulations, and that it's employees are members of another carpenters' organization. The Pete King Corp. has accused the union of creating the campaign in response to an unsuccessful union vote.
