Petrobras workers strike, shut down some oil platforms
A group of about 5,000 workers at the Brazilian oil giant Petrobras went on a 24 hour strike Thursday, shutting down 40 of 48 platforms. The workers are affiliated with the Petroleum Workers Union. The disgruntled workers want the company to re-institute overtime pay for night shifts worked. Oil production on several platforms was disrupted, though the company?s stock remained unaffected by the stoppage.
