Pharmacy lobbyists object to workplace rules proposed by City Council
Yesterday, pharmacy lobbyists in Chicago protested against a proposal that would limit the amount of hours a pharmacist could work and the amount of prescriptions they could fill per hour, while also requiring meal and break times. The proposal would also provide whistleblowers with protection if they report a problem. The proposal came after an investigation revealed that 52 percent of 255 of Chicago's pharmacies failed to make customers aware of harmful or fatal drug interactions. The lobbyists believe the changes are unnecessary and the new policies would be both costly and inefficient.
