A member of the American Federation go Government Employees union received help from the union when seeking to buy a home, and the union provided the member with a lender and real estate agent that helped secure down payment assistance. The member also received a loan with no private mortgage insurance, and these measures made it more accessible for the member to purchase a home. The other benefits that unions in the Philadelphia area offer include rebates and discounts for various purchases as well as lower rates for homeowners insurance.
