Philippines bans its workers from 41 countries
The Philippines government has banned its workers from 41 countries, including Afghanistan, Libya, Sudan and India. The government said that the countries did not have adequate protections for foreign workers. 9 million Filipinos currently work abroad, and the economy relies on money they send back. Some worry that the ban will force Filipinos to work illegally in these countries, with even fewer safeguards, but others point out that many of these countries have very small numbers of Filipino workers.
