Pickle Farmers Short on Migrant Workers
Pickle farmers have been left with acres of unharvested fields this summer due to a short supply of migrant workers. While there is no clear reason for the drop in numbers, agriculture experts speculate that low wages and a lack of work play some role. Experts also speculate that many migrant families may not be making enough money to travel this year; farmers in Ohio have been hit especially hard by the low supply of workers.
