Pilgrim's Pride Cuts Outlook, 300 Jobs
Pilgrim's Pride Corp., the second-largest poultry producer in the United States and Mexico, will cut about 300 jobs at a Pennsylvania plant due to low earnings. According to the company statement, a Franconia, Pa., plant will cease ground-turkey and cooked-turkey cold-cut production and focus on refrigerated salads. The company expects that the restructuring will cut labor costs by about $13 million.
