Planned Parenthood workers reach agreement in North Central States
After a lengthy process, Planned Parenthood has come to a tentative collective bargaining agreement for over 400 of its workers at clinics thought the North Central United States. The workers, represented by SEIU, initially voted to unionize in 2022, but it took many months of hard fought negotiations, including threats of a work stoppage, for the two sides to finalize the contract. The new agreement includes a scaled minimum wage increase, more affordable healthcare, and improved infrastructure for dealing with grievances and arbitrative issues, and now will be reviewed and voted on by workers in five states.
