Plans create Michigan jobs
Michigan Governor Jennifer Granholm recently announced 20 new state projects, which she plans to use to generate millions in investments and 9,500 new jobs. The majority of the projects involve large companies receiving tax benefits to expand or move into Michigan, thereby creating new jobs. The others involve local businesses and governments redeveloping contaminated or abandoned sites around Michigan. Brownfields and vacant buildings throughout the state are slated for cleaning and redevelopment as office buildings, apartments, condos, hotels and retail/small business sites. Granholm belives all 9,500 jobs are badly needed, and has called the unveiling of the projects ?an incredibly great day for Michigan.?
