Police Rescue Hundreds of Child Workers in Southern India
In Hyderabad, India, police have spent the last 10 days removing over 350 children from hazardous working conditions in plastic factories and leather tanneries. Despite child labor laws in India, nearly 4.35 million children ranging from ages 5 to 14 are illegally employed. Immense poverty has led these children to work in factories to support their families.
