Polish Miners in Hunger Strike, Sit-In Over Wage Cut Plan
In Poland, miners at the Jastrzebie Coal Company have been striking since January 28th over the company's proposal to restructure operations. On Tuesday the strike escalated as employees began a sit-in and others went on a hunger strike. A third of the miners at the company have voted to remove the Chief Executive from office.
