Political, union activists rally for Obama near Hofstra
The Long Island Federation of labor, in conjunction with local unions and Democratic groups, amassed a crowd of around 1,000 to rally in support of Presidential candidate Barack Obama at the third Presidential debate last night. The event, held at the Harry Chapin Lakeside Theater in Eisenhower Park, included musical performances, speakers, and tents set up for campaign phone calls to voters in Ohio and Pennsylvania. Organizers hope the rally will help advance New York Democrat interest and active involvement in the Obama campaign.
