Poll reveals that U.S. election workers may quit due to threats of violence
The Brennan Center for Justice at the New York University School of Law conducted a poll of nearly 600 election officials across the country. They found that U.S. local election officials are increasingly worried about threats of violence and being physically harmed, with one in five respondents saying they are somewhat or very unlikely to stay with their jobs through the 2024 contest. The poll also found that one in six officials had been threatened personally with more than half of those cases not being reported to law enforcement.
