Port clerks, shipping lines extend talks
Representatives of 17 major shipping companies and office clerical unit Local 63 of the International Longshore and Warehouse Union will continue negotiating a new contract despite the local's unanimous support for a strike if negotiations did not conclude by Saturday. Local 63 President John Fageaux Jr. said that the negotiations were making progress, and a representative for the shipping company expressed similar confidence.
