Positive Trends Underneath Wider Wage Gap Between Men and Women
Midcareer and older women began to close the gender-pay gap. The youngest women still receive earnings closer to that of their male counterparts when compared with other age groups. What this might mean is that women are starting out on more equal footing than ever before, but may not be advancing through organizations as quickly or as highly as men. The 2012 total earnings gap has increased slightly compared to 2011?s numbers, but is still much smaller than even 10 years ago.
