Positive Connection Between Encouraging Employee Civic Engagement and Retention Rates
Perceptyx's recently conducted a survey that found links between employers encouraging civic engagement and retention rate. The survey found specifically, that Companies which encouraged employees to vote had a higher percentage of workers who would recommend the company as a good place to work (86% vs. 59%) and had a higher percentage of employees who said they intend to stay at the company for at least the next 12 months (83% vs. 63%). As many employers have made news by discouraging political discussion in the workplace, the survey shows that there are advantages to civic discussion in the workplace to an extent.
