Post Office Workers to strike for fifth time since Easter over closure plans
Post Office workers announced another full-day strike in opposition to closure plans. Members of the Communication Workers Union voted nine-to-one in favor of the strike that will take place after the second May bank holiday. Union leaders claim that there is substantial public opposition to the closure plans, which will shut down 70 post office branches. Management has defended the changes as necessary to ensuring future operation of the service.
