Postal Service to End Delivery of Letters on Saturday
The U.S. Postal Service is expected to announce that it will discontinue letter services on Saturdays. The agency says the move will save about $2 billion a year. The move comes as the Postal Service seeks ways to cut costs, due to deficits relating to a law that requires them to pay money into a future retiree health fund. The American Postal Workers Union, which represents about 220,000 workers and former employees, said that the move will only hurt the postal service.
