Postal Service workers wouldn't be the only ones hit by Senate bill
A Senate bill whose main purpose is to help save the Postal Service would have an effect on other federal employees. Amendments to the bill would alter health benefits for federal employees and reduce some workers' compensation. The proposed changes to health care could effect both current and future employees. Experts warn that health care for the Postal Service is in part more expensive because of retired workers, and that changes for current and future employees will only do so much.
