Postal workers in the UK demand better wages and plan to strike
In the United Kingdom, postal workers who are members of the Communication Workers Union (CWU) have plans to go on strike in August and September. Similar to other organized labor efforts occurring in the UK, such as the waste collection workers strike in Scotland, CWU references the increased cost of living as the economic issue propelling their demand for higher wages. CWU has also expressed distaste with the large pay disparity between Royal Mail's executives and employees. Royal Mail has responded by emphasizing its plans to ensure deliveries continue on the planned strike days.
