According to a recent survey of companies with remote work options, employee surveillance through video feeds and keystroke monitoring has significantly increased since the pandemic. These surveillance tactics have become the norm amongst employers to track the productivity of their remote workers. The most common way employers have been tracking workers' attention and focus has been by tracking their browsing activity and app usage. However, these practices have brought about concerns and have caused some employees to quit. As the workplace continues to evolve and younger workers embrace remote work options, it is possible that employee monitoring software may decline, especially if it starts negatively affecting companies' talent pools.
