Private jobs growing, while weekly claims falling
A report released by the payroll processing company ADP showed that the private sector added 176,000 jobs in August, with most hiring concentrated in the service industry. The report also showed that weekly jobless claims were down in the last week. Both employment figures are on par with the modest gains towards recovery the economy has taken throughout the past few months; slow and steady growth that has inspired the Federal Reserve to begin quantitative easing in September.
