Proposal to ban "right to work" laws in Illinois and protect workers seeking to unionize
In Illinois, voters will decide this November whether or not to add protections to the state constitution regarding workers' right to organize and collectively bargain. This Workers Rights Amendment would essentially ban "right to work" laws in the state if it were to pass. While labor groups have expressed support for this amendment, business groups and the state's Republican Party have criticized it and are in opposition of such a measure.
