Proposed California bill would increase the minimum wage for restaurant workers to $20/hour
A new bill in California proposes to increase the minimum wage for restaurant workers in the state. The minimum wage for these employees would increase to $20/hour, and this change would end the tension and disputes between restaurants and labor unions. The bill applies to any restaurant that has over sixty locations in the United States, and half a million Californians will be impacted by this bill. An increase in minimum wage will provide more financial flexibility and reduce financial pressure on fast food and restaurant workers, as many of these workers have to work multiple jobs to pay the bills. Before the bill can take effect, it will have to pass the California state legislature and be signed by the California governor.
