Protesters Clash in Athens on Second Day of Strike
On the second day of protests in front of the Greek Parliament, protesters clashed with law enforcement officers. The protests are taking place as the Parliament votes on more austerity measures. The Greek government says that the measures are necessary to secure loans from the international community. The austerity measures include changes to collective bargaining rules. The police estimated that 50,000 people were demonstrating outside of Parliament. The protests are taking place at the same time as a general strike that shut down many services and offices.
