A new app for iOS and Android allows users to apply for jobs directly from their mobile phones. Launched in 2009 as an SMS job application service, Proven now has almost 150,000 active users. Its appeal is in its accessibility, enabling users to send applications and resumes to job listings from Craigslist, SimplyHired, and Beyond.com that otherwise might be filled before the applicant can reach a computer. By giving users quick access to their resumes, the app is especially handy for applicants to service, hospitality, healthcare, and administrative jobs where terms of employment are typically shorter.
