Pueblo teachers union prepares for new leadership
As the president of the Pueblo Education Association prepares to retire, a new leader and longtime union member has been elected via virtual vote. The incoming leader has stated that due to the coronavirus pandemic advocating for workers’ rights has become increasingly important. The union has stated that moving forward the goal is to increase member involvement and ensure that members have a greater stake in decisions made by the organization. Additionally, the union hopes to increase professional development opportunities for teachers.
