Queen's staff could 'strike' for the first time as Windsor Castle workers vote on action over 'appalling' low pay
Employees at Windsor Castle, home to the Queen of England, are expected to vote whether or not to take "non-strike industrial action" in protest of low wages and uncompensated work. A vote to take action would mean employees would work but not perform extra duties, such as giving guided tours and acting as a interpreters for tourists, for which they are not paid. Windsor employees are hoping that tours and visitor services will be disrupted to the point that the Royal Collection Trust, which maintains the castle, will address their low pay, which is below England's living wage.
