"Quiet hiring" on the rise as US businesses seek to fill roles while keeping costs down amidst inflation
Last year, prominent workplace trends included quiet quitting and the Great Resignation. Recently, a new workplace trend known as "quiet hiring" has been on the rise. While not a new concept, "quiet hiring" entails reassigning employees to different positions within the company or adding responsibilities to existing roles in order to fill a pressing business need. Amongst fears of a recession and talent shortages, some companies have been quiet hiring, and workers are using this as an opportunity to expand their professional skills and negotiate pay increases.
