Quiet quitting trends replaced with "conscious quitting" as tight labor markets provide workers with more leverage to switch jobs
According to a recent survey, rather than quiet quitting, workers are now "conscious quitting" and fully leaving jobs that they aren't satisfied with. This new workplace trend is also considered to have emerged as a result of the pandemic which caused many people think about work differently. Additionally, the tight labor market and labor shortages post-pandemic have empowered employees to either leverage changes in their workplaces or leave in search of ones that align with their values. These conditions are likely to continue into 2023, requiring companies to meet the expectations of their employees and create transparent workplaces to avoid conscious quitting.
