R.J. Reynolds Tobacco plant workers vote against union representation
Production and maintenance workers at R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company have voted against union representation. The company says that a preliminary ballot count shows that the workers voted against the International Association of Machinists and the Bakery, Confectionery, Tobacco Workers and Grain Millers International Union. The company is the second largest cigarette maker in the country. The National Labor Relations Board is expected to certify the election in the next week.
