Rail Strike May Disrupt Industries Across North America
Sunday's strike by workers for the Canadian Pacific Railway has representatives across multiple industries worried about potential disruptions of the transportation of goods. Engineers and conductors for Canadian Pacific are striking over what union officials term insufficient fatigue countermeasures for workers, along with other scheduling issues. The strike could affect the transport of cars in Canada, as well as oil to refineries in the United States and suppliers are worried about potential storage issues for goods awaiting transport if the strike drags on.
