The American Federation of Teachers (AFT) and Reading Area Community College board of trustees approved labor contracts through 2012 for three AFT bargaining units Wednesday. All of the contracts include a 3.9% wage increase per year and additional annual payments supplementing salary. Union concessions include some compromises in health care coverage. The agreements, which cover faculty, paraprofessionals, and office/maintenance workers, help boost wages to the comparably higher pay rates of other Pennsylvania community colleges.
