Reality a Sweatshop, TV Writers Allege
Reality television writers have declared that they have been forced to work in sweatshop-like conditions in a suit brought against Fox Broadcasting Co. and Rocket Science Laboratories. The suit alleges that the two companies repeatedly violated California labor laws by denying employees overtime pay and meal breaks and requiring them to submit false time cards. The plaintiffs are seeking back pay and unspecified damages. The Writers Guild of America, West, is backing the lawsuit.
