Reality Show Writers Seek Representation
Writers for hit reality TV shows like "Survivor" and "The Bachelor" are actively seeking union representation, according to The Writer's Guild of America, West. The guild representing Hollywood writers has disclosed that more than 75% of the scribes on TV reality shows have signed cards asking to be represented by the union. Unlike other writers, reality TV scribes typically make lower wages, do not receive pension, health or residuals and usually work for two to three months per job, according to the guild.
