Recent jobs report indicates cooling US labor market amidst declining job openings
The recent Job Openings and Labor Turnover Survey released by the Labor Department has indicated that the tight US labor market has begun to cool off. After the pandemic and companies rushed to rehire workers, jobs openings had been very high; however, the recent data shows that job openings have declined. In spite of this and the layoffs in the tech sector, the labor market still remains generally favorable for most workers.
