Recent poll data indicates that the majority of Americans support labor unions, and strike action for UAW
A survey conducted by The Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research found that a greater percentage of Americans support striking auto workers compared to the Big 3 Automakers. 36% of Americans were in favor of autoworkers, 9% of Americans were in favor of the automotive companies, and the rest of the surveyed group were indifferent between the two sides. The poll also found that the UAW strike is less supported by the general public than the writers' and actors' strikes in Hollywood. Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research found that 55% of Americans supported the WAG and SAG-AFTRA strikes. Although the support for the UAW strikes is lower than for WAG and SAG-AFTRA strikes, the data from both these strikes indicate that the American people are in favor of labor unions and benefit the US economy.
