Recent study suggests that workers need to move during the day
A recent study found that workers who move for three minutes every half-hour have higher metabolic health. This activity should take place during mini breaks with activities like jumping jacks, squats, or climbing a few flights of stairs. Epidemiological studies show that adults in the U.S. sit for about six and a half hours a day and being sedentary increases worker's risk for metabolic syndrome and Type 2 diabetes. The findings of the study led the experts to suggest that aiming to get up twice an hour is worthwhile.
