Report Finds Auto Productivity Up in U.S.
An annual survey compiled by Harbour Consulting has found that all six U.S. automakers were more productive in 2003 than in the year before. The most efficient final assembly plant in America continues to be the Nissan factory in Tennessee. Nissan also claims the highest amount of profit per vehicle. Chrysler Group was the highest in productivity of the domestic car makers. The report notes that all companies have made great strides in productivity improvements.
