Report: Foxconn using forced student labor to build Sony?s PS4
Reports all over the Chinese press are saying that Foxconn, in collaboration with the Xi?an Institute of Technology, is using unpaid ?internships? to build the next generation of PlayStation consoles. The reports cite students of the Xi?an Institute of Technology who were told that if they refused the internship they would lose credits. The internship is free labor for Foxconn who is placing many of the students in production, distribution, and assembly positions, regardless of their major or skills. The school claims that everything it is doing is legal and that it is ?making students learn about society and experience life.? Foxconn has been exposed exploiting the exact same practice with the exact same school approximately one year ago.
