A new study was released on Tuesday, assessing the financial outlook for retirement for people between 36 and 62. The report says that at least 44% of those within those age ranges are at risk of not having enough for retirement. However, the study estimates that workers can correct by saving more now. Workers closest to retirement face the greatest difficulties, but the report says that they should try to save 25% of their income. The study also credits greater enrollment in automatic 401(K) plans as helping to improve retirement savings. the report recommends increasing policies that boost private savings.
