Republicans Just Made It Easier For Employers To Hide Workplace Injuries
On Wednesday, the Senate knocked down a rule that would have required large employers to maintain longer records of health and safety incidents. The rule was introduced during the Obama administration and was meant to solidify a policy that had been well established by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration. Employers are now only required to keep records for the previous six months. OSHA officials argue that the current policy disincentives employers to keep accurate injury logs and makes it harder to recognize recurring problems.
